How often do you take a step back and look at your life and become truly amazed by all the abundant blessing surrounding you? How many times do you take a step back and instead of questioning God or asking him to better our lives do you just take some time to thank him?

There are so many blessing in our everyday lives that we can easily take for granted and overlook.

If we want to be positive and live fulfilled lives than it is time to stop focusing on the negatives and start appreciating what we have. We need to start seeing the good in the world.

My life is blessed and I am joyful. I am not a billionaire, I do not have the best of everything, I struggle, I fought cancer, I feel sadness,  I’v lost loved ones but I am blessed. I value the fact that life is a gift and no day should be wasted. I learned to start embracing the attitude that everyday is a gift and each person or thing I have is one to be appreciated.

Nothing in life is granted and nothing is owed to us! The world owes us nothing and God is not obligated to answer every single request we ask from him. In fact God knows how to answer our prayers in the best way possible because he knows the greater plans for our lives.

So often it is easy to get caught up in asking God for more, craving to improve, to become better, to out do yourself and to keep pushing the limits of how much more we can obtain. For example, more likes on social media, more money, more friends, more promotions, more success. When did we start constantly craving more and start becoming obsessed? We need to do better by start living of the world and not just in it.

One bible story that I feel relates to this is in the book of John. Jesus had been tired from all his travels and in the middle of a hot sunny day sat down at a well. When he was resting a Samaritan women came to the well to get a drink of water. Jesus asked the women to give him a drink, and the women got offended by the fact that Jesus was asking this of her. She couldn't understand why a jewish man was asking her a Samaritan women a drink. So Jesus respond to her by saying  “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” - John 4:10

After this point the women was so confused at what he was saying and basically responded by saying you have nothing how can you give me anything. Then Jesus tried to tell the women exactly where he was going with asking her for water and answered her “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”- John 4:13-14.

Jesus and the women keep talking and eventually the women realizes Jesus is the savior!

Drinking from the well is like trying to drink from the world and fill ourself up with other people, or likes, or any other thing but Jesus. If we live of this world and we try to have all the possession and things fill us up we will never be fully satisfy and always crave MORE. When we live for Jesus and drink of the water he tells us of, we are satisfied and filled with the spirt.

As christian we are told to live in the world but not of it. Every time we crave more and think what we have is not good enough we are letting the enemy win. We let him win because we are challenging God, doubting who we are, becoming greedy, and being unsatisfied with the place God has put us at in our lives.

In the age of technology it is easy to get consumed with social media and the amount of likes you get on a picture or how many followers you have.

I never worried about the follower account my page had or the number of likes I gotuntil someone brought it to my attention. I simply share content I feel passionate about and think can help brighten someone day. One day someone I had admiredpointed out to me that the numbers I had in there words “were not up to par” with standard they needed for me to achieve. I was taken back by the comment at first hurt that someone who was supposed to work with me. I was motivated by needing more and strived to prove to them that I could live up to their standards. Numbers don't define me as a person. Becoming obsessed with the concept of numbers on social media would have made me completely lose sight of why I started posting in the first place and cause me to live in the world and not of it.

The comment and advice that person had given to me could have promoted a type of greed in me unlike any I had ever known before. It is the little things like putting doubt in our mind, making us think we are less then others that lets the enemy win! Our lives are more blessed then we can even imagine. God gives us what we need exactly when we need it!

I Know What I’m doing. I Have it all planned out- plans to take care of you not abandon you, plans to give the future you hope for” - Jeremiah 29:11.

God knows way more then I could ever even begin to comprehend. He knows the plans he has for my life and I need to trust that the place I am currently at right now is exactly where he wants me to be. I want to be thankful for the season of life I am currently in and embrace the blessings in each day.

This year I have challenged myself to truly become the best person. In doing my bible study each day, one constant theme God has recurring in my life is being “Thankful and content.” One way I am striving to live and embrace the attitude of seeing the blessing in each day is by remembering 5 blessed things about the day each night before I got to bed.

Simple things are the biggest blessings like, being able to think clearly, walking, talking, eating, having a place to call home, someone I love, the ability to walk, to breath, to speak, the list can go on and on. Little things I may think as ordinary are things maybe people wish they had. Being a cancer survivor and having had a period of time where I couldn't walk, I had no hair, I had trouble eating, I couldn't be at my home, and had to witness friends lose there lives. Godshowed me to appreciate the life and appreciate each day’s blessings and to be thankful.

Everyday you wake up is a gift because so many people are fighting to survivor. God gives us so many blessings in our everyday lives that sometimes its hard to see them all but its important to step back and say thank you. Today and everyday no matter what I may I am choosing to thank God for all he has given to me and all I have overcome.

Give Thanks to The Lord for he is good: his love endures Forever-  1 Chronicles 16:34
