A Time for Everything- Ecclesiastes 3 New International Version (NIV)
3 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
There is a time for everything. That bible verse is one of my favorites because it reminds me thatthere is a time for all the stages of life, there is a time for all the emotions we as people feel. There is a time for everything. In this ever changing life it feels like somethings move so quickly that we can’t even stop and appreciate and embrace the season of life that we are currently. As people we are constantly hurrying to get into the next season. Reading this bible verse aways reminds me that I am supposed to be where I am supposed to be and not to question God no matter what stage of life I am in.
As people we know what we want for our lives. We all have dreams, ambitions, and plans of how we want life to look like but sometimes those don’t always line up exactly with where we are right now. If those dreams don’t line up with our current stage of life it's easy and to get frustrated and angry with life. This causes us start to doubt and question. Question why not me? Why them?
Thats' where jealousy and anger can start to breed and you begin to feel discouraged, let down and resentment and angry start to develop. Being in a place of jealousy and resentment is no where anyone wants to be.
Ecclesiastes 3 shows that no matter what stage in your life you are at there is a time for that emotion. Whether you are married with kids or single and waiting, that is exactly the stage of life Gods wants you to be at in this place in time. God has plans for each and everyone one of us. He has a for each person's life. No two plans ever look the same so they can never be compared.
God didn’t make you to be cookie cutter, you are not the person next to you or the person you admire for a reason. You are different from them. Your life story and experiences are distinctively unique to you! No one is going to ever live the exact same life for a reason. God has taken you, shaped you and modeled you for the exact moment you are living in today. He knows you and he knows the plans he has for your life.
Since God created each person so uniquely why do people compare themselves to one another? No one is the same so why look at another person and see all they have and get angry and jealous? If God wanted you to be in a relationship you would be in one. If God wanted you to have that job you would. God created you the way you look, live, and have lived in the past for a reason. You are an individual so don’t compare your season of life to another person's. Instead of comparing start to trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
Gods plans are greater, bigger and better than anything you could have ever dreamed up for yourself. He knows exactly how he wants our lives to go and if we choose to follow him he will reveal his plans to us in his timing. There is a time for everything in each season of life. Embrace the season you are currently in right now and trust it is where you are meant to be. Don’t get caught up in wishing days away or becoming frustrated about how life is but instead trust and believe in God’s timing.
