Challenge: I want to challenge you to look at the things that make you who you are and embrace each one of those with the knowledge that God loves you because of what makes you, you!
A quote that always makes me smile and reminds me to be who God created me to be is “Be a Fruit Loop in a world full of Cheerios”. I love that quote so much despite that fact that it makes me smile it has a really valid point.
You are wonderful, beautiful, smart, and UNIQUE. I have the word "unique" typed out in full caps because I want to stress that word as much as possible. God hand crafted you to be the person you are. He shaped your outward appearance, he knows your thoughts before you think them and he knows what is truly in your heart. God didn’t create you to be a cookie cutter, he made you in your own unique way.
No two people have the same fingerprints, experiences, or personality. We have different things that make us who we are. No two people are exactly alike and I can never understand why anyone would ever try to be like someone else when they are already amazing just the way they are.
God took time to handcraft each one of us, he watched us through all the trials life brought our way and knows the little things that make us who we are. He took time and sees the beauty in all parts of us, like the freckles on your nose, your curly hair, your big smile, and your beautiful laugh, he loves each part of you.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart”- Jeremiah 1:5
One of the things that upsets me the most is to see someone trying to copy another to the point where they change who they are and try to hide the unique things about themselves. You were created with beautiful things about you that are not like anyone else on this planet.
If you follow me on any social media platform you know how much I adore my big sister. She is one of the people I look up to most and she has been my best friend since the day I was born. In true little sister fashion growing up I would try to do everything Britt did. When she played with a doll I wanted too, when she played store I would too, when she had friends over I would find my way to play with them too. One time I went so far to try to be like Britt that I tried to laugh like her. There are so many things that I love about my sister and in seventh grade I loved her laugh.
Although we have similarities we are two completely different people. We were raised the same way by our amazing parents, we share the same family, we have share all major life experiences together but we are completely different in many ways. Our differences are what make us so close and have a unbreakable bond. As Britt and I have grown older I learned that the things that make her her are beautiful but they aren’t what make me who I am. We grew up the same way but God created us both unique.
God has a plan and purpose for each person's life and no two people are the same! As followers of Christ we are challenged to embrace our own uniqueness and not to conform into who the world wants us to be.
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
Before you even came to this world God knew his plan for you, you are not supposed to be one of this world but you are called to be the person God has made you to be!
